Henry is a recent MA graduate in politics from the University of Birmingham. He is currently working as a barista but is applying for PhD positions to research how representations of crisis by the state and media allies legitimate coercive political projects, with an emphasis on the refugee crisis. His areas of interest include contemporary British politics, social movements and change, and authoritarianism. He is also a volunteer writer at the charity ‘Cheltenham Welcomes Refugees’ where he aims to challenge mainstream myths perceptions of the refugee crisis.
