In 2020 Thame Town Council adopted the Thame Green Living Plan proposed by the voluntary group Thame Green Living. They continue to support the plan, though the projects have been left to the charity affiliated group, who in turn are supported by other local businesses and organisations as well as by crowd funding.
‘Cosy Thame’ is one of their major projects. Their aim is to help and advise Thame home owners to keep their houses warmer by cutting heat loss and reducing their energy bills. They organised a thermal imaging survey with the use of a drone to pinpoint what and where the common problems were and presented the findings to residents in the Town Hall.
Having heard of project which was given a short report on BBC Radio Oxford, we decided to visit the Town Hall event and interview the leader of the Cosy Thame project, David Dawson. What they are doing is being followed in other communities by grassroots groups around the country.
We asked if members of the various parties represented on Thame Council would like to comment but have not received any response.
Watch our interview with David on all the useful advice he’s giving to Thame residents.
