Oxford for Europe public meeting

20 March @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

’Brexit is a failed project: a brighter future is possible’
with Prof Danny Dorling, Liz Webster and Willow Fisher

This is our first face-to-face meeting for some time and we are very much looking forward to it. This is an important time for our movement. There is increasing evidence of just how much this country gained from EU Membership, and sadly how much has been lost. People are feeling the pain and increasingly realising that they have been lied to. Public opinion has shifted, with latest polls showing about 63% of those who had a view stating that they would favour rejoining. Farmers are among the many groups have been badly affected. There has been a decline in the general sense of public well-being. Young people have been compelled to accept much more limited horizons, and the loss of the Erasmus Plus program is only a part of a larger whole. Most importantly, people in the UK need to distrust politicians who tell them they have no choice but to accept their lot. They need to believe that a better future is possible. We will be discussing ways in which we can help with the step-by-step approach towards that future. Our three invited speakers can discuss many of these issues from a position of truly exceptional authority. They will welcome questions from the audience and we look forward to an animated discussion.
