BBC News: Last week, Energy Secretary Ed Miliband told the BBC the Labour government stood by its promise to lower energy bills by £300 by 2030.
Ed: DT is right to point to the increase in bills but not to rubbish the whole net zero plan.

DT (“Telegraph View”): The hypocrisy of the European Union is breathtaking. Given how easy it is to get across the Channel this way, the added friction of travel to the Continent is a pointed insult.
BBC News: EES is a digital system designed to keep track of when non-EU citizens enter and leave the Schengen Area. Under the new system, fingerprints and a photo have to be registered.
Ed: The real hypocrisy is that the DT encouraged its readers to vote for Brexit and these ensuing border checks. More anti-EU propaganda.

BBC: Downing Street has strongly denied the government was involved in the collapse of a prosecution against two men accused of spying for China.
Ed: The CPS had to prove that the previous government had classified China as an enemy or threat – which it hadn’t.
