Them’s the brakes!

Adrian asks if Johnson knew - or his successor will know - how to drive a car properly or run the country fairly.

Them’s the brakes and that’s the clutch
will we miss you? No, not much
for you have lied ‘til fit to bust
up in smoke the public’s trust
and all your mates stood up for you
shafted truth and country too

Them’s the brakes and there’s the door
goodbye Boris, let’s hear no more of
herd instinct and how the West was won
best job in the world got Brexit done
apart from trade deals, borders, Ireland, Scotland on the run
VAT, customs, study, European fun
equal opps and broken travel links
OK, nailed it, Boris, if that’s what you thinks

Them’s the brakes and them’s the gears
you could have got away with it for years & years
them’s the brakes and that’s the boot
in you go top hat and Eton suit
and all your pals kept quiet as mice
as you played loose and rolled the dice

Them’s the brakes and that’s the clutch
will we miss you? No, not much
another Top Gear team drives into view
which of them was taught by you
that truth is cheap, who gives a stuff
we’ll find out soon, yes, soon enough.
