Watching the Ukrainian refugee crisis unfold, I was reminded of Mr Rogers of American children’s television fame who said:
“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping’”.
The War in Ukraine has created a fresh wave of refugees escaping war in their homeland. These people are desperate and traumatised and in bad need of help.
Well, the people of West England, along with the rest of the nation, are more than willing to step up, as shown in our earlier article on a teacher from Tetbury.
