Who could forget that time
you set a house on fire
to boost morale?

Or that time you killed a man
in front of his wife and kids
while they were picking olives?

You entered Gaza
to take revenge –
as much as possible
Women, children –
everyone you saw.
As much as possible.
That’s what you wanted.

You were the happiest
and biggest goofball
in the whole platoon.

Bilal Saleh, aged 40, was shot and killed by an Israeli settler on 28 October 2023 as he harvested olives near his village of As-Sawiya in the West Bank.
